We’d recommend you take some trekking boots on the trip. If you are using a porter then you will not have to worry about trekking with too much weight but the ground conditions can vary so it is good to have some ankle support.

It is also important to bring another pair of footwear for your downtime, flip flops or light trainers are good for this. You do not want to be wearing your trekking boots all day long when you have arrived at the place to stop for the evening.

You do not need to bring any mountaineering boots for this trip. You will not need to use crampons so please bring something comfortable for hiking in.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek does reach a high altitude where you may feel some discomfort. The altitude gains through each day of the trekking are not massive so this will increase the chances of not being affected.

Coming on the trek with good fitness will also help to lower any chances. Whilst the risk is low for having trouble with altitude, it can happen. Our team are experienced in spotting the signs and making sure your health and safety is top priority.

It is possible to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and vice versa. The flight takes about 40 minutes. If you are interested in flying compared to road transport, let us know and we can discuss the additional costs with you directly.
