This is a trek and therefore involves a lot of walking. It is important to bring shoes which you are comfortable in walking in. We would recommend walking boots for the added support that they provide ankles.

It is also worthwhile to bring a pair of trainers or sandals. It is nice to be able to put these on after a long day of walking!

This trek does go to a high altitude so there is always the chance that it may have an effect. We do combat this however, with steady acclimatization and rest days.

Our team is trained in spotting the signs for altitude sickness and your comfort and safety is our priority. Whilst a good level of fitness does not completely eradicate the chances of getting altitude sickness, it does help.

The best time to do the Everest Base Camp trek is during March – May. It is also great during September – November.

You can still do the trek year round and see it’s spectacular beauty but some viewpoints may not be as good as the periods above.
