With the outdoors, there are inevitably dangers. Our priority is to keep you safe and our staff are fully trained in what we do. Safety is very important to us so we ask that you follow the directions of our staff at all times. Coming to Nepal can be a great adventure and very fulfilling, but there are some obvious dangers.
Altitude. If you are looking to do a trek or a mountaineering trip, chances are you will be going high into the mountains. Altitude can affect everyone differently. The air gets thinner with less oxygen so your body has to work harder to function at the same level it does at a normal altitude. This can make you slow down in the speed of your trekking or in serious cases, make you feel extremely light headed. Altitude sickness can affect anyone, no matter if you are super fit or not. It can lead to death in rare, extreme cases. Our guides are trained in spotting the early signs of altitude sickness and providing a remedy before they get worse.
Fitness. A lot of the tours that we offer require a base level of fitness. Without that, it won't be much fun for you and we may not be able to complete the trek in the designated itinerary. We pride ourselves on our honesty. Although some conversations may be hard to have, if we feel that your fitness is lacking it can put the whole group in danger and we will raise it.
Food hygiene. The food in Nepal is great. It is also not uncommon for visitors to suffer from a bout of food poisoning throughout their trip. If you are in the country for a short period, you don't want to ruin it with an upset stomach. Our team are here to suggest to you the types of food to eat and what we would consider safe. You are welcome to take our suggestions or not but we just have your best interests at heart.
Transport. Travelling around Nepal can be an adventure in itself. The roads are like nothing you will have experienced before and can be incredibly bumpy. Adventure Paradise Nepal only uses means of transport that we know offer a professional service. These are operators who have been in business for many years and have great safety records.
We have highlighted some of the most common safety concerns above. If you have any other concerns or doubts before booking a trip with us, please send us a message. We'd love to put your mind at ease and welcome you to Nepal soon.
