Trek Overview

The Langtang Valley trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural immersion, taking you through one of Nepal's most pristine regions. Known as the 'Valley of Glaciers,' Langtang showcases stunning mountain landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and the rich heritage of the Tamang people.

This trek is particularly special for its diverse ecosystems, from subtropical forests to alpine meadows, and its proximity to Tibet. You'll witness the unique blend of Tibetan and Tamang culture, visit ancient monasteries, and experience the warm hospitality of local mountain communities. The trail offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Dorje Lakpa, and the Langtang glacier.

Trek Itinerary

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m)

Scenic 7-8 hour drive through mountain landscapes. Overnight in Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang.

Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m)

Begin trek along the Langtang River through dense forest. Gradual ascent with views of snow-capped peaks.

Trek to Mundu (3,543m)

Trek through rhododendron and pine forests. Pass through Langtang village and witness Tamang culture.

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)

Shorter day with spectacular mountain views. Visit the ancient Buddhist monastery and cheese factory.

Acclimatization Day at Kyanjin Gompa

Optional hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) for panoramic views of the Langtang range and glaciers.
